KAGAN PARK PARKING LOT
The Kagan Park parking lot was resurfaced and re-stripped in June 2024.
CELESTIAL WAY DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
The Celestial Way Drainage Improvement project created swales on both the east and west side of Celestial Way to enhance storm water drainage off the roadway. A small section of asphalt was removed at the intersection of Celestial & Mercury and was replaced with pervious pavers to further enhance the drainage of heavy rains from the roadway. The Town executed an agreement with CK Contractors & Development to perform the work. The project started on May 20, 2024, and was completed in September 2024.
TOWN CENTER RESTROOM RENOVATION PROJECT
The Town Center Restroom Renovation project replaced the flooring, drywall, bathroom partitions and all bathroom fixtures- sinks, counter tops, toilets and urinal. The toilets and urinal were replaced with new water saving fixtures. This was completed in September 2024.
VULNERABILITY ASSESSMENT PLAN
The Town was awarded $224,999 to create a Vulnerability Assessment Plan through the Resilient Florida grant. This plan will engage public participation while evaluating modeling on climate change to better identify vulnerabilities in Juno Beach. The selected consultant, APTIM, started in October 2024 and will present a complete plan to the public and the Town Council by January 2026.
SAFE STREET FOR ALL
The Town was awarded a $100,000 grant from the state ($80,000 from the state and a $20,000 local match) to create an action plan for safer streets in Juno Beach. This action plan will further the Council’s goal of the elimination of traffic fatalities and reduce the number of serious injuries involving traffic accidents per the adoption of the “Vision Zero” policy. A competitive bid will be issued for a consultant to write this action plan for the Town. The grant allows up to 2 yrs for the completion of this action plan. An agreement with the state is being working on and will be executed in 2025.
DONALD ROSS DUNE WALKOVER - FRDAP GRANT
The Town was awarded a Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program (FRDAP) grant in the amount of $150,000 to renovate the dune walkover that was newly acquired from the county at JB0. In addition to the structure being replaced there is $100,000 budgeted for enhanced drainage at this location. The Council approved the selected surveyor begin the preliminary work so that engineering designs can be considered in this location. The topography may pose an engineering challenge for a new structure while preserving the seagrapes. Completion is anticipated in Winter 2025.
PELICAN LAKE GAZEBO
The northern gazebo at Pelican Lake was discovered to have been infested with termites causing damage to the pilings. The decking project has turned into a complete renovation. The town’s engineer is evaluating the structure and will propose a path forward for either renovation or complete replacement.
PRESERVATION OF HISTORICAL AREAS
The town has applied for a$50,000 grant ($25,000 from the state/$25,000 local match) that will identify historic areas and recommend preservation.
KAGAN PARK- FRDAP GRANT
The Town has applied for a $150,000 FRDAP grant to renovate the playground at Kagan Park. Formal notice will be announced by the state in July 2025.
TRAIL-GO
The Town has applied for a $200,000 grant ($150,000 from the state/ $50,000 local match) to repair pavers/sidewalks around Juno Beach. This grant is pending and the state will make announcements and awards in July 2025.
