Assistant Chief Mark G. Saloio joined the Juno Beach Police Department in December 2021.  He has over 28 years of law enforcement experience most recently serving as Chief of Police with the Tisbury, Massachusetts Police Department.  Previously, he served with the Sturbridge, Massachusetts Police Department in Massachusetts for almost 20 years, holding the ranks of Patrol Officer, Detective, Detective Sergeant, Operations Lieutenant and Administrative Lieutenant. Prior to Sturbridge he was a Patrol Officer for the Monson, Massachusetts Police Department as well as a Corrections Officer for the Hamden County Sheriff’s Department in Massachusetts. '

Assistant Chief Saloio oversees Professional Standards, which consists of the Juno Beach Police Department’s training, volunteer, and reserve officer programs. He manages our fleet and is responsible for Departmental inventory and equipment.  Assistant Chief Saloio also manages the Accreditation Program and has completed Accreditation Management Training with the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation. Prior to relocating to Florida, he served as a Commissioner with the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission and performed accreditation assessments on behalf of the Commission for numerous state and municipal agencies throughout Massachusetts.

Assistant Chief Saloio holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Curry College in Milton, Massachusetts, and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice, with a concentration in Homeland Security, from Westfield State University in Massachusetts.  He has completed numerous advanced law enforcement leadership and management programs to include The Southern Police Institute’s Command Officer Development Course, Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command, Roger Williams University’s Senior Leadership Development and Executive Development Programs, and is an FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Award Recipient. Assistant Chief Saloio also served as a certified Motor Vehicle Law Instructor with the Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Commission.
